Station Masters to stage 48-hour strike action
Based on several requests, the Station Masters resigned from their supervisory duties from midnight yesterday (10).
This is based on a number of requests, including the expeditious preparation of vacancies and recruitment procedures in the department and the introduction of a systematic communication system for railway stations.
Accordingly, the Secretary of the Station Masters' Association Kasun Chamara told the Hiru News team that the strike was launched for a token period of 48 hours from midnight yesterday (10).
However, he added that if no solution is found, it was decided to expand it to a continuous strike.
