Bride infected - possibly while purchasing supplies for wedding
The Minuwangoda Medical Officer of Health says that a bride from the Madamulla area in Minuwangoda has been quarantined after being diagnosed with Covid infection.
Health officials suspect that the bride may have contracted the virus while visiting shops in Minuwangoda to buy wedding supplies.
The groom was referred for a rapid antigen test, which revealed that he was not infected with the virus.
However, he has been placed under quarantine at home and the bride has been admitted to the Warakapola Hospital for treatment.
Our correspondent stated that the group of 35 families who have been sent for quarantine at home are being prepared to be sent for PCR examinations
