Asantha de Mel resigns as Chief Selector
Asantha de Mel says he has resigned from the post of Chairman of Sri Lanka Cricket Selection Committee.
Last week De Mel resigned as Sri Lanka Cricket team manager.
Ashantha De Mel’s tenure as the head of Sri Lanka Cricket’s National Selection Committee was extended last year.
De Mel has played 17 Tests and 57 ODIs for Sri Lanka picking up 59 wickets apiece in each format.
