Skipper Dimuth fractures his finger

Sri Lanka captian Dimuth Karunaratne has suffered fracture in his finger during the 2nd Test against South Africa which ended today.

Dimuth Karunaratne scored his 10th Test century earlier today but that couldn’t prevent South Africa from thrashing Sri Lanka to win the Test series 2-0.

“I think my finger is fractured, we didn’t take an X-ray yesterday but today I feel there is a problem, We believe it’s a small fracture” Dimuth Karunaratne told reporters after the game.

“I have 8 to 9 days until the first test against England, I hope I can recover before that” Sri Lanka captain said.

He also confirmed that Dinesh Chandimal and Angelo Mathews will return to the side for the England series after recovering from injuries.

Sri Lanka – England first test begins on January 14th in Galle.
