Police Sub Inspector’s chain snatched in Fort
A female Sub inspector attached to the 119 police emergency unit has fallen victim to a chain snatching incident in Pettah, Lankadeepa reported.
The Pettah police say that an unidentified person has snatched the chain off the police officer’s neck, while she was on her way back from duty, to the police quarters situated at Aluth Mawatha, Colombo 15.
It is reported that the chain is valued at about Rs.180,000. Police have commenced investigations following a complaint made by the said Sub inspector and as of now no one been arrested with regard to this robbery.
Several incidents of chain snatching have been reported in the country in the last few days.
