Environmental approval to be obtained for 1000 MW power project
State Minister of Solar, Wind and Hydro Power Generation Project Development Duminda Dissanayake states that steps will be taken to obtain environmental approval for the power project to add 1000 MW to the national grid.
He was speaking at a discussion with officials of the Central Environmental Authority at the State Ministry recently.
The Minister further stated that the objective of his Ministry is to obtain the maximum amount of energy requirement of the country from renewable energy sources in accordance with the 'Saubhagyaye Dakma' National Policy.
