Bus carrying healthcare workers struck by train in Waskaduwa
A bus carrying healthcare workers from a private hospital had been struck by a train close to the Kosgas Junction in Waskaduwa this morning.
The healthcare workers were enroute to conduct PCR tests on a group of foreign tourists who had been quarantined at a Tourism Ministry approved hotel.
The luxury bus is reported to have been struck by the train while passing the railway crossing close to the Kosgas Junction in Waskaduwa.
The driver of the bus has been hospitalised after sustaining serious injuries in the accident.
A group of 12 individuals, including five women, were inside the bus at the time of the accident. (NewsWire)
