Local Covid-19 caseload rises to 39,782
The local Covid-19 caseload has increased to 39,782 with the finding of 551 new cases, according to the Government Information Department.
The clusters at the Brandix factory at Minuwangoda, the fish market at Peliyagoda and at prisons account for 36,099 of them.
A total of 8,257 patients remain hospitalized, while 31,339 have recovered so far.
With one new fatality reported, of a 54-year-old man from
Akkarapattuwa, the death toll in Sri Lanka has risen to 186, says the Department.
