Case regarding Mahara Prison unrest postponed to 23 Dec
The case filed regarding not conducting the postmortem examination of seven inmates who died at the Mahara Prison unrest was postponed until 23 December.
The facts were presented by the Criminal Investigation Department when the case was taken before the Wattala Magistrate Buddhika Sri Ragala today (18).
Previously, the bodies of four inmates were autopsied and the confidential report was submitted to the Court, which revealed that the bodies of the deceased had gunshot wounds.
Later, the Magistrate ordered that the four bodies be cremated.
