Final vote on 2021 budget to be held today
The final vote on next year's budget is scheduled to take place in Parliament at 05:00 p.m. today (10)
The vote for the second reading of the budget was held on 21 November and it was passed with a majority of 99 votes.
During the vote, 151 votes were cast in favour, while only 52 votes were cast against it.
Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Diana Gamage who voted in favour of the Government during the 20th Amendment to the Constitution cast her vote in support of the Government during the budget reading as well.
Meanwhile, the expenditure of the Ministries of Justice, Labour, Prison Reforms and Prisoner Rehabilitation, Foreign Employment Promotion and Market Diversification were passed without amendment during the Budget Committee yesterday.
