Don't harvest turmeric ahead of schedule
The Department of Export Agriculture states that if the turmeric harvest is carried out ahead of schedule due to the increase in prices, the farmer will incur losses.
Department Director Upul Ranaweera stated that the reason for the loss was the reduction in the harvest.
As doing so would not yield the expected price and higher yields, the director requested the farmers not to harvest turmeric ahead of schedule.
