Committee appointed to formulate guidelines for tourism & opening of BIA
A special discussion was held yesterday (03) under the patronage of Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi and Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga on the opening of the airport to attract foreign tourists to the country and operate the tourism industry.
Reportedly many officials involved in the tourism sector including the heads of the Epidemiology Unit were present at this discussion.
It has been decided to appoint a joint committee to formulate health guidelines and basic plans for the development of the tourism industry.
Also, the Department of Immigration and Emigration stated that it is mandatory for the public to reserve a date through www.immigration.gov.lk prior to visiting the department for services.
The department further stated that with the expansion of coronavirus, the activities at the Department are being conducted according to a plan, therefore the services required could be fulfilled expeditiously.
