Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended his congratulations to President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa on the one year anniversary of his presidency.

In a special message, the Prime Minister of India said that Sri Lanka and India have been able to take relations to a new level during the past year. The Prime Minister of India points out that India has always been committed to strengthening relations between the two countries.

The congratulatory message also said that the cooperation between the two countries in the face of the Coronavirus epidemic is a good reflection of the relationship.

The Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi has stated that the Government of India will continue to support Sri Lanka's development program as well as the suppression of coronavirus and said that he hopes that under the leadership of Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, bilateral relations will be at an all-time high.
