COPE to resume activities today
The Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE), which was suspended due to the covid 19 spread, has decided to resume its activities from today, said its Chairman, Member of Parliament Prof. Charitha Herath.
He said that arrangements have been made to hold meetings following safety procedures in accordance with Corona Health Regulations.
Officials of the Road Development Authority, the Ministry of Highways and the relevant Project Management Unit are to be summoned before the COPE Committee today. Only 07 officials including the Chairman of the Road Development Authority, the Accountant of the Ministry of Highways, the Project Director of the relevant project unit have been summoned to Parliament today and the special audit report on the feasibility study and procurement process of the Central Expressway will be examined.
Meanwhile, today is the third day of the debate on the second reading of the 2021 budget.
