Imran Khan responds to Sri Lanka’s decision to lift Covid victims burial ban
Pakistan Premier Imran Khan has welcomed the Sri Lankan government’s official decision to allow the burial of persons dying of Covid-19.
The gazette notification was issued last night (25) by health minister Pavitra Wanniarachchi, allowing both burial and cremation options for disposing corpses infected with Covid-19 in Sri Lanka.
Pakistan Prime Minister tweeted earlier today welcoming the official decision of Sri Lankan authorities. He had tweeted earlier this month too, welcoming the assurance given by Prime Minster Mahinda Rajapaksa, after the Sri Lankan PM said in Parliament that burial of Covid-19 dead bodies will be allowed in Sri Lanka.
Imran Khan concluded a 2 day official visit to Sri Lanka on Wednesday (24) during which he held discussions with The Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
