Human remains linked to 260 bodies recovered from Chemmani mass grave

Excavations at the Chemmani-Siththupaththi mass grave site have uncovered skeletal remains linked to 260 human bodies so far, according to officials involved in the excavation process.

Skeletal remains belonging to 256 bodies have already been exhumed from the site, it was reported.

Excavation activities continued for the 11th day of the third phase on Friday (08), during which remains linked to three additional bodies were discovered. Two of those bodies have been fully exhumed.

A total of 17 human skeletal remains have been identified during the third phase of excavations up to Friday (08).
