Anura Priyadharshana Yapa appointed CoPF chairman
MP Anura Priyadharshana Yapa has been appointed as the Chairman of the Committee on Public Finance (CoPF).
The CoPF convened this afternoon (November 09) in a Committee Room at the Parliament.
At the meeting, Minister Bandula Gunawardena nominated MP Yapa to chair the committee. His nomination was seconded by MP Dilan Perera.
Subsequently, a preliminary discussion was held on the upcoming tasks on the new Committee on Public Finance of the ninth parliament.
Parliamentarians Keheliya Rambukwella, Susil Premajayantha, Vidura Wickramanayake, D. V. Chanaka, Dr. Nalaka Godahewa, Dr. Harsha de Silva, Hesha Vithanage, Isuru Dodangoda, Sahan Pradeep, Prof. Ranjith Bandara, and Anupa Pasakuwal were also present at the meeting.
The Committee is to meet again on November 12, when the 2021 Appropriation Bill will be taken into discussion.
