40 percent vacancies within the audit service
The National Audit Office said 40 percent of positions within the audit service are vacant.
Auditor General W.A.C. Wickramaratne said as a result challenges have arisen to carry out certain special audits.
He said applications were called for the recruitment of audit officers.
The Auditor General said applications were called from graduates who are currently working in the government service.
Plans are in place to conduct the competitive examination promptly and recruit graduates to fill 465 vacancies.
