
Mattala Airport set to receive first group of tourists today
As Sri Lanka is optimistically looking at the possibilities of rejuvenating the tourism industry under the concepts of “travel bubbles”, the international airports are getting ready to facilitate international flight operations.
Ukrainian Budget Carrier, SkyUp Airlines is to operate a charter flight to Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) today bringing the first group of tourists.
Former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia, Udayanga Weeratunga said that 214 tourists will arrive from Mattala International Airport and will be staying in a travel bubble operated in Benthota, Koggala and Beruwela.
