
Indian Couple Arrested at BIA with Kush Worth Rs. 25 million
Two Indian nationals have been taken into custody by Sri Lanka Customs officials at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport with 2 kilograms and 400 grams of Kush in possession.
Customs Media Spokesperson Seevali Arukgoda said that the suspects had arrived in the country from Bangkok, Thailand.
The value of the Kush drug haul is approximately Rs. 25 million.
The arrested individuals are a 32-year-old and a 29-year-old Indian couple.
This is the couple's first visit to Sri Lanka, and are reported to engage in a business.
They had brought the drugs into the country, meticulously concealed within two pieces of luggage.
