Six persons nabbed for engaging in illegal fishing in Trincomalee
The Sri Lanka Navy apprehended 06 persons for their involvement in illegal fishing using unauthorized nets, during a search operation conducted in the sea area of Adukkupadu, Trincomalee on 01st November 2024.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of a dinghy used for this illegal activity.
The persons apprehended during the operation were identified as residents of Nilaveli, from 17 to 44 years of age.
Those individuals along with the dinghy were handed over to the Fisheries Inspector of Trincomalee for onward legal action.
