NCPA Investigates Into Complaints of Children Being Used in Election Campaigns
The National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) said that complaints have been received relating to several political parties using children in their election campaigning activities and that investigations into such complaints are underway.
NCPA has observed that children under the age of 18 are participating in election campaign activities with the consent, intervention, or encouragement of adults.
NCPA further highlighted that involving children in such campaign activities could expose them to risks and physical and psychological stress and said that strict legal actions will be taken in such instances.
NCPA notifies and requests all parents, guardians, and political parties to avoid involving children in such election campaign activities.
