SJB is the Only Team with a Clear Plan - Sajith
Sajith Premadasa, the presidential candidate for the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), has emphasized the need for urgent structural reforms to address the complex and deeply rooted challenges facing Sri Lanka.
Premadasa asserted that the SJB is the only political team with a clear plan and the political will to deliver the necessary reforms.
“The challenges we face are complex, deeply rooted, and they require urgent structural reforms,” Premadasa stated. “Real change demands the collective will of a strong majority parliament. There are no shortcuts. It’s within this democratic framework that we can build a solid foundation, not just to address our current crises, but to safeguard future generations.”
He presented a comprehensive blueprint outlining how the SJB intends to achieve these goals, emphasizing the party’s commitment to technological advancement and rational decision-making, particularly within the business community.
He criticized political opponents for their lack of vision and self-interest, arguing that such leadership cannot achieve the constitutional and economic reforms needed for substantial growth. “A team that follows a leader only driven by self-interest and extreme selfishness will never have the political will to execute the necessary reforms,” Premadasa remarked. “They cannot imagine anything beyond a measly 3% growth in the future.”
Premadasa also addressed the promises of system change by other political factions, noting that without parliamentary strength, these promises are unattainable.
He accused these factions of consistently obstructing fundamental reforms that could have propelled Sri Lanka towards becoming a newly industrialized country.
