Special Traffic Plan During Ven. Gnanissara Thero's Final Rites
Police have announced the implementation of a special traffic plan in anticipation of a large crowd gathering for the final rites of the late Venerable Dr. Galaboda Gnanissara Thero, the Chief Prelate of the Colombo New Korala and Chief Incumbent of the Gangaramaya Temple.
The cremation is scheduled to take place on Monday between 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM.
To facilitate the smooth flow of traffic, several roads in the vicinity of the Gangaramaya Temple will be subject to restrictions.
Police said the public is advised to expect traffic congestion in the area and to plan their journeys accordingly.
To accommodate vehicles of those attending the cremation, the Police have designated a parking area on the grounds behind the Altair building.
