SC Blocks Community Advisory Committees for Development Projects
The Supreme Court on Wednesday (24) issued an interim order preventing the implementation of the community advisory committees appointed to carry out the government's development projects.
The decision was reached after taking into consideration a petition filed by PAFFREL.
The petition highlights a letter sent by the Election Commission to the President's Secretary, calling for heads of state institutions to ensure that state resources are not allocated for propaganda activities of candidates who have submitted nominations for the local government election.
PAFFREL's petition requested a court order directing a group, including the Secretary to the Ministry of Finance, to comply with these directives.
