Teachers, Principals Ready For 2-Week Work-to-Rule Campaign
The Teachers and Principals Trade Union Alliance has announced a two-week work-to-rule campaign, commencing on July 22nd.
The decision comes in response to the government's failure to address critical issues faced by educators across the country.
The Alliance, representing teachers and principals, will withdraw from all activities outside of teaching. Their primary focus will be on educating students.
Joseph Stalin, the General Secretary of the Ceylon Teachers' Union said that participation in programs involving politicians within schools will cease, and teachers will no longer engage in information-gathering tasks related to political events.
