Shooting incident reported in Ambalangoda
A man sustained minor injuries after being targeted in a shooting incident in Ambalangoda, police said.
The incident occurred on Heenatiya Road in Wathugedara on Tuesday when two men on a motorcycle opened fire at a three-wheeler carrying several individuals.
Police said the intended target, who was returning home after attending court proceedings, was not struck by bullets but suffered minor injuries during a tussle with the assailants.
He was admitted to hospital for treatment.
No other persons were injured in the attack, and investigations are underway to apprehend the two gunmen.
