Sri Lankan Navy Seizes Over Rs 13 Bn Worth of Narcotics This Year
The Sri Lankan Navy reports that, to date this year, they have seized narcotics valued at over Rs. 13.21 billion.
In a recent statement, the Navy highlighted a troubling increase in drug trafficking activities disguised as fishing operations.
The most recent incident, which occurred last Friday, involved the interception of a multi-day fishing vessel in the southern sea.
The Navy seized 131 kilograms of heroin and arrested six individuals in connection with the smuggling operation.
