PC Saliya Peiris appointed as President of BASL
President's Counsel Saliya Peiris was elected as the 26th President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka.
The polls were held at 85 polling stations islandwide from 08:00 a.m. to 05:00 p.m. yesterday.
President's Counsel Saliya Peiris received 5,162 votes, while President's Counsel Kuvera de Zoysa received only 2,807 votes.
President's Counsel Saliya Peiris was elected President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka with a majority of 2,355 votes.
Rajiv Amarasuriya, Attorney-at-Law was elected unopposed as its Secretary
