Elderly Allowance for May and June to be Paid This Month
The Welfare Benefits Board has announced that the elderly allowance for May 2024, originally delayed due to technical issues, will be available for pick-up at Divisional Secretariats after the second week of June.
This disbursement will encompass a total of over 1.518 billion rupees allocated for May's allowance payments.
The Board has further clarified that beneficiaries will also receive their June allowance payments this month alongside their May allotment.
For those who prefer a more secure method of receiving their allowance, arrangements have been made to credit the funds directly to their designated bank accounts under a secure payment system.
All individuals over the age of 70 who are part of families already receiving government assistance remain eligible for the elderly allowance.
