WhatsApp Group Scams on the Rise, Warns SL-CERT..
The Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team has received numerous complaints regarding scams occurring within WhatsApp groups.
According to Charuka Damunupola, the Lead Information Security Engineer at Sri Lanka CERT, these scams exploit the names of well-known brands and companies.
The fraudulent activities involve adding individuals’ WhatsApp numbers to groups without their consent.
