Healthcare Stretched Thin: 1700+ Medical Professionals Leave
In the past two years, over 1,700 doctors, specialists, and medical professionals have left Sri Lanka.
Spokesperson for the Government Medical Officers' Association Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe attributes this exodus to the ongoing crisis and economic struggles faced by the nation's citizens.
He highlights that this trend has negatively impacted the operations of both large and small hospitals across the country.
