Drug Dealer's Wife Nabbed in Assets Seizure
In a significant development under Operation Yukthiya (Justice), authorities have arrested the wife of local drug trafficker 'Army Asanka' , during a raid at her residence in Kiriwatthuduwa,
The Illegal Assets Property Investigation Division conducted the operation, leading to the recovery of over Rs. 123,000 in cash suspected to be proceeds of drug trafficking.
Additionally, assets believed to be amassed through illegal means were seized, with an estimated value exceeding Rs. 43 Million.
Gold valued at Rs. 8.75 Million was also seized in the operation.
The operation, ongoing for three days, has resulted in the arrest of 6693 individuals, including 274 women.
A combined force of 200 army personnel, 200 police officers, and 50 members of the police special task force is currently engaged in the initiative.
