Weather: 32 trees uprooted in Colombo.
Sri Lanka's Met Department warned that rains accompanied by strong winds during the evening will last until the end of November.
Meteorologist Janaka Kumara says that up to 75 mm of rain is possible today in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, North Western, and Uva provinces, as well as the Galle, and Matara districts.
He also says that misty conditions may occur in the morning in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces.
Meanwhile, the removal of fallen trees following the strong winds that accompanied by rain in many areas, including Colombo, on Tuesday (7) evening was completed.
The Colombo Fire Brigade says that multiple main roads and by-roads in Colombo were blocked due to uprooted trees, and these trees were removed last night.
The Disaster Management Centre says that 32 trees uprooted in the Colombo city alone.
There was heavy traffic on Colombo roads last night due to the fallen trees.
Meanwhile, the Badulla-Colombo main road was blocked due to the collapse of an earthen mound in the Haputale area, and the debris has been removed for the flow of traffic.
Sri Lanka Railways announced that the train operations the Kelani Valley line, which was blocked due to uprooted trees in the Maradana area, has also been restored.
The Director of Hydrology & Disaster Management at the Department of Irrigation S. P. C. Sugeeshwara, says that the Deduru Oya, Attanagalu Oya, and Nilwala River are still at minor flood level.
