Ayurvedic treatment is being administered to the tusker Seetha from Maharagama, who was shot recently.
The tusker is currently being treated in Maharagama, Veterinarian Tharindu Wijekoon attaches to the Veterinary Unit of the temple of the tooth relic says.
The metal ball that was discovered lodged in the tusker's chest while the tusker was undergoing its second surgery, has been sent to the government analyst for further investigation.
The tusker Seetha was shot at while it was tied on a plot of land close to the Mahiyangana Raja Maha Vihara, after having taken part in the temple's perehara.
