Schools in the south closed due to bad weather.
Due to the prevailing weather conditions, multiple schools in Deniyaya and Mulatiayana education zones were given school holidays today.
The Secretary of the Southern Province Ministry of education Ranjith Yapa, says that schools were closed due to the risk of floods and landslides.
10 schools were issued holidays in Mulatiayana while all schools except Urubokka National College and Pattigala Percy Abeywardena Junior College in the Deniyaya Education Zone have been issued holidays.
Secreatary Ranjith Yapa added that several schools in the southern province have been inundated due to floods and landslides as well.
