Three flights diverted to Mattala Airport due to inclement weather
Three flights that were to land at the Katunayake International Airport have been diverted to the Mattala Airport due to the current inclement weather.
An official from the BIA said that the flights were diverted as heavy showers and thundershowers were reported on Thursday (4) night and Friday (5) morning.
A flight carrying 297 passengers from Melbourne, Australia, and another flight that had departed from Male, Maldives was diverted to the Mattala Airport.
The third flight that was diverted to Mattala on Friday (5) morning had arrived from Dammam.
