NBRO issues landslide warnings for 3 districts
Landslide warnings have been issued for Kandy, Kegalle, and Kurunegala districts due to the prevailing rainy weather.
The National Building Research Organization (NBRO) stated that the landslide alert issued for Badulla, Colombo, Galle, and Kalutara districts is still active.
Landslide warnings have also been issued for Matale, Ratnapura, Gampaha and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Meanwhile, the Chilaw-Colombo road has been inundated in Madampe and Mahawewa areas.
Hiru Correspondent stated that this situation has arisen due to the opening of the sluice gates of Thinipitiyawewa and Kadupitioya.
Also, traffic on the Negombo-Puttalam main road has been disrupted due to a tree falling from the Marawila Godawala junction.
