First phase of largest cancer treatment center commence tomorrow

The first phase of the largest cancer treatment centre to be built in a local hospital is scheduled to be opened at the Kandy National Hospital tomorrow (11).

The event will be presided over by Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.

Maharagama Apeksha Hospital will only fall second to this unit in treating cancer patients and is equipped with the latest technology.

Accordingly, this 12 storey unit will be built with a capacity of 600 beds.

The cost of this treatment center is Rs. 1,945 million.
