Sluice gates open in Canyon & Upper Kotmale reservoirs
The sluice gates of the Canyon and Upper Kotmale reservoirs have been opened due to heavy rains.
The Disaster Management Center stated that two sluice gates of the Canyon Reservoir and one sluice gate of the Upper Kotmale Reservoir have been opened.
It is reported that the Canyon, Laxapana, New Laxapana, Polpitiya, and Wimalasurendra power plants are also generating electricity at maximum capacity due to the rising water level in the reservoirs associated with the hydropower plants.
