Bangladesh lost to Sri Lanka in the official warm-up match of the ICC T20 World Cup. Batting in reply to Bangladesh's 148, the Lankans reached the target with 4 wickets to spare.

The Tigers won the toss and elected to bat at the Tolerance Oval in Abu Dhabi. Soumya Sarkar scored the highest 34 runs for the team. He hit 1 four and 2 sixes off 26 balls. Apart from others, Sheikh Mehedi Hasan scored unbeaten 16, Liton Das 16 and Nurul Hasan Sohan 15 runs. Dushmantha Chameera took three wickets for Sri Lanka.

In reply, Sri Lanka lost 6 wickets in 79 runs. The victory of Bangladesh then seemed to be a matter of time. Avishkha Fernando and Chamika Karunaratne handled the pressure created by Soumya-Mahedi to stay in the game.

In the seventh wicket, the match slipped out of the hands of Bangladesh due to responsible batting of the two. Sri Lanka reached the target in the last ball of the 19th over. Avishkha and Chamika left the field with the victory. Taskin-Shoriful-Nasum could not defend the total in the end.

Avishkha remained unbeaten on 62 off 42 balls. He had 2 fours and 3 sixes in his innings. Chamika made a great contribution in the victory by going unbeaten on 29 runs from 25 balls in 1 four and a six.

Taskin, who conceded only 4 runs in the first 3 overs, got hit for 21 runs in the 18th over. In the 19th over, the Lankans got the desired 12 runs from Shoriful's over. Nasum also went for runs.
