Bangladesh lost to Sri Lanka in the official warm-up match of the ICC T20 World Cup. Batting in reply to Bangladesh's 148, the Lankans reached the target with 4 wickets to spare.

The Tigers won the toss and elected to bat at the Tolerance Oval in Abu Dhabi. Soumya Sarkar scored the highest 34 runs for the team. He hit 1 four and 2 sixes off 26 balls. Apart from others, Sheikh Mehedi Hasan scored unbeaten 16, Liton Das 16 and Nurul Hasan Sohan 15 runs. Dushmantha Chameera took three wickets for Sri Lanka.

In reply, Sri Lanka lost 6 wickets in 79 runs. The victory of Bangladesh then seemed to be a matter of time. Avishkha Fernando and Chamika Karunaratne handled the pressure created by Soumya-Mahedi to stay in the game.
