Colombo District reports highest number of COVID patients yesterday
In the past 24 hours, 253 COVID patients were identified, from which 15 patients were overseas returnees.
Among the 253 COVID patients reported yesterday (02), the highest number of COVID patients were identified from the Colombo District which was 53 patients.
From the Gampaha District, 42 cases were reported, while 38 cases were reported from the Jaffna District.
Since the beginning of the second coronavirus wave on 04 October, from the Colombo District 31,069 COVID patients were reported.
During the same period, 18,158 COVID patients were reported from the Gampaha District, while 6,518 COVID patients were reported from the Kalutara District.
The total number of COVID cases in Sri Lanka stands at 91,017, while 87,629 have recovered with 2,834 still receiving treatment.
Meanwhile, the death toll in the country due to COVID-19 increased to 554, with the report of another two COVID deaths
