'Spider-Man 3': Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire's crossover in upcoming Tom Holland flick 'not confirmed' says studios
Fans waiting eagerly for the highly anticipated Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire crossover into Tom Holland’s upcoming ‘Spider-Man 3’ may have to wait a tad longer. Although the internet has already gone into full throttle in anticipating what’s in store in this multi-verse, studio bosses have seemingly applied the breaks on this one.
Sony Studios – who owns the rights to Spider-Man – was asked about the rumours running wild on the cyberspace. Much to fans’ disappointment, “Those rumoured castings are not confirmed,” the studios told ET Canada.
According to recent reports Marvel Studios was reportedly planning an epic climax scene that would have Garfield and Maguire, teaming up with Tom in an action scene unlike any other. Speculations about this crossover have been doing the rounds since it was announced that Jamie Foxx would reprise his villainous role as Electro in the upcoming film.
Besides the big names joining the franchise, it was also reported that Benedict Cumberbatch as the wizard Doctor Strange, will play mentor to Peter Parker in the upcoming film.
‘Spider-Man 3’ which was originally planned for a July 2021 release, has now been pushed to December 2021. It remains to be seen if the delays in production will force the makers to further postpone the shoot.
