A former Sri Lanka test cricketer has been summoned before court tomorrow on allegations of match-fixing during the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2020.

The former cricketer has been summoned as part of investigations into the alleged attempts to fix a match in the LPL 2020, accroding to Lankadeepa Newspaper

He has been accused of reaching out to players, while he is also accused of failing to cooperate with the ongoing investigations into the allegations.

The former test cricketer is reported to have attempted to approach two cricketers participating in the LPL 2020, via phone calls from Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
The accused former Sri Lanka cricketer is now reported to have returned to Sri Lanka from overseas.

He had reportedly handed over two of his mobile phones for investigations, while it was later revealed that the two phones do not belong to him.

The former Sri Lanka cricketer is later said to have failed to cooperate with the ongoing investigations.

According to the Lankadeepa, as a result, summons have been issued on the former player to report to the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s court tomorrow (02).

The summons was issued based on a complaint filed by the Special Police Unit appointed to probe malpractices in Sports in Sri Lanka.
