Suspect who misused Doctors ATM card arrested

Galle Police have arrested a person who swindled around Rs. 10,000 from a doctor's ATM card.

The suspect is a a tourist guide and a resident of Kendala, Boossa.

A doctor had visited a bank branch in Galle and withdrawn money from the ATM card and he had been forgotten to take it.

It was later revealed that the suspect had taken the card from the ATM and used it to buy liquor, food and loudspeakers worth around Rs. 10,000.

The Doctor has lodged a complaint with the police once the text messages were received on the doctor's mobile phone stating that he had obtained various items from his card.

Accordingly, the police checked the security camera systems and confirmed that the person who had obtained the goods using the doctor's ATM card was a person with long hair.

It was reported that the suspect was arrested after a woman identified the person in the photograph shown by the police during a search of the Unawatuna area
