Warning issued regarding fraudulent activities during Valentine's Day
Police are warning the public to be wary of fake messages on mobile phones on Valentine's Day.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that the message could be sent to the mobile phone as a text message or through social media accounts.
This message declares that you have won a valuable gift for Valentine's Day and that your significant other has sent you a valuable gift.
The police spokesman said that the message requested that some money be deposited to obtain it.
This is done by a fraudulent group and it is possible to receive emails along with a photo of the prize.
Therefore, the police are advised not to fall prey to such fraudulent activities and not to make such deposits.
