Drowning in Kelani River: Bodies of two youths found (Photos)
The bodies of two youths who went missing while bathing in the Kelani River were found this morning.
That was after a joint operation by the Navagamuwa Police and the Navy.
Four persons including the two deceased youths had gone to bathe in the Kelani River near the Meepitiya Bridge yesterday afternoon.
They also had an alcohol party at the time and one young man drowned and the other jumped into the river to save him. Police stated that he too had drowned at that time.
The youths, aged 28 and 18, are residents of Ranala - Suduwila and Galewela - Medabedda - South.
It is reported that the youth, a resident of Galewela, had come to this area for work and had held the party to celebrate his passing.
