Local indigenous doctor assaulted and 400,000 robbed
Six persons have been arrested for assaulting a group including a local indigenous doctor in the Deraniyagala area.
The doctor, a resident of the Kiriwattuduwa area in Horana, had gone to the Deranigala area with a group to treat a sick person.
After treating several persons including the two sons of the person concerned, the local doctor and his group had been beaten.
Four persons including the injured doctor are currently receiving treatment at the Avissawella Hospital and it is said that the suspects had abducted nearly Rs. 400,000 from their possession.
The suspects have also damaged a car and a three wheeler of the doctor and his team.
