PM provides financial assistance to remote Hindu Temples
Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa has presented checks worth Rs. 10,000 to 100 selected Hindu temples in remote areas.
The Prime Minister's Office stated that these checks were handed over at Temple Trees yesterday to commemorate the Thaipongal day and the pooja which falls tomorrow (14).
These checks have been awarded to Hindu Temples in Colombo, Kalutara, Kegalle, Ratnapura and Gampaha.
Minister Douglas Devananda, MP Suren Raghavan and the Prime Minister's Plantation Coordinating Secretary Sendil Thondaman were also present at the occasion, the Prime Minister's Office said.
