Son who assaulted his mother, remanded
A suspect who had allegedly threatened and sexually assaulted his mother was arrested by the Veyangoda Police and was remanded until 21 January after producing before the Gampaha Magistrate's Court yesterday (09).
The Court has ordered the suspect to be produced before a psychiatrist and a report to be submitted to the court.
The suspect was a 33 year old resident of Korase, Veyangoda.
He had come home yesterday (08) morning and had asked his mother for something to eat.
It is reported that the mother had prepared the food and the angry son had assaulted the mother due to the delay in delivering the food.
Police investigations have revealed that he had then threatened his mother and sexually abused her.
The suspect son was arrested after his mother lodged a complaint with the police.
